Slackin again....but for good reason!

I have been super busy and really haven't thought to write.....but since I am homebound.....time abounds.

I had my face basically chemically burnt off on Monday. At the last minute, I elected to not do the sedation. (WRONG CHOICE!!!!!!!). So with a whopping 3 advils (thanks to the plastic surgeon) on board, I was put through Hell. Fun tidbits......

1. It was Hell on earth. I spent 45 minutes wide awake....shaking and crying. Those horrid 45 minutes are nothing when compared to eternity in Hell. My God reigns. It hurt. Like a blowtorch to the face....with burning razorblades raking across the skin. Horrible.

2. I only swore once. That is a miracle in and of itself. When the doc asked how I was doing I told him I wanted to blow him out then said the word that rhymes with 'wit'. 1 bad word- PROGRESS.

3. About twenty minutes in, I gave it (the pain) to Jesus. And said the Serenity Prayer. On repeat. In fact I just about wore it out.

4. I shook so hard that my ABS are still sore. Yes, that is correct. My STOMACH muscles shook. Ugh.

5. They offered to get my mom from the waiting room. Since I love her, I told them no. She would have flipped.

6. I cried so hard some of the blue dye came off!

7. I rode home with the AC on blast...crying.

I was the only patient they have had do this procedure without sedation. I am fairly certain I am also the last.

This rocks my mind.......and knocks on my heart......and strengthens my soul.

So a couple nights ago I stumbled upon this passage during my nightly readings.....and I have continued to chew on it for three days. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. :)

Ezekiel 18

The acid aftermath....

Monday I met (again) with the PS. This time I got subjected to 100% TCA (pure acid) in four spots. OUCH! Hoping that it helps. So, I was off work yesterday and got off early today. (See, there IS sunshine behind every cloud!). It does not look too bad.....but I do have it slathered in Neosporin.......yum. We have changed our game plan and am going to do a full deep chemical peel (less cost prohibitive). Reason being that I can always do another......and he would prefer to only subject me to dermabrasion once. So- I will go back this upcoming Monday for a recheck and to schedule the full face peel. I will hold off on pictures right now.......figure they will be more impressive when the whole face looks like a burn patient....rather than the four spots. The fun continues.............

As for the Makers Diet.....still going well! I am pretty accustomed to the grazing on veggies and fruits. Strawberries are my buddies! Red peppers are not my buddies. :) I do miss cheese......really really miss cheese. I am over the bread fascination.......but I don't know if I will ever be cured of the cheese addiction.

So, my glorious three readers......how is that for excitement?

Oh- Aunt J! YOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! Do I need to send out an APB for you being apparently missing from the blog world?

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

3 weeks......

Today marks day 21 of the makers.......highlights so far:
1. I no longer want to rip bread out of peoples hands and devour it. Same goes for chocolate. AMEN!
2. I have lost 7 lbs. (WHOA!)
3. I have only cheated once: Super Bowl Sunday. Who wouldn't? I don't watch football- but went to a get together. Since it was a booze fest and junk food fest.....I indulged- in the junk food! Buffalo wings...a cupcake....and a piece of the BEST cake from the Sweetery. Tho I did eat salad too! Oh- I forgot to mention a couple of deviled eggs too!!!!!
4. I now sleep in comas. I hit the pillow and I am in lala land for 8 hours. I guess getting all the food injected with hormones, preservatives, antibiotics etc etc really does affect ya!
5. I am testing being off the Crohn's meds. So far- so good.


I still have not gotten used to the goats milk. I LOVE the cheese, but the milk is a bit ummmmm different.

And...the Buffettmeister is home.....

So......a recap of Buff's excitement.....

-Dropped off at 7:30 at vet. He is never a happy camper there. Ever. He growled at the receptionist and tried to hide from the vet tech......behind me. So, I got to go with him to the back. We stopped at the scale and he refused to get on. I picked his 63 lb arse up and placed him on scale.

- He still refused to go with tech. So, I got the fun duty of having to take him in back to the kennel area. I felt like a turd leaving him............The tech promised to call me (on my cell) as soon as they were done so I would know he was ok. (Border Collies are known to have anesthesia probs).

-At 11:30 the home phone rings. Caller ID says "Magnolia Veterinary". In panic mode I answer. On the line is the DOCTOR.....who is stumbling on his words. FULL PANIC MODE. Once he finally spit it out (or I quit freaking out) he says he has a fractured tooth. I give the A-OK to extract.

-At 1:00, my cell rings. Its the tech. He did very well....but was under for more than two hours so they want to keep him longer.

-I call at three.....and they say he is cleared to go.

-Upon arriving, the receptionist (a different one from this morning) heads in back to get my boy. She comes back out and says I need to get him. So.....I go back to place I deserted him earlier. Another tech is there and walks in first and I can hear him growling. Once he heard my voice....the growling stopped.....and the whining began. They have me open the kennel and get him out......and then I am sent with whining/growling/shaking dog to wait to talk to the doc.

-Fast forward thirty mins....Buffett manages to crawl all 63lbs of black hair ball onto my lap as we sit on a super uncomfortable bench. He growls at every soul that walks by. Every single person. I continue apologizing profusely with the "I swear he is only like this here" record playing over and over and over.

-FINALLY at 4:30 the doc comes to see us. Buffett is truely not a fan. I had to lift cheeks up so the doc could show me the extraction site. Evidently, Buff was quite snappy with him at some point during the day....I guess the doc wanted to keep his fingers intact.

-Poor Buff is finally now home. And he is miserable. And still kinda sedated. And whiny. Bless his heart.

Lessons from today:

1. Everyone was shocked to see him curled up on my lap as we waited. A couple different people made comments about "thats quite the lap dog" and the sort. Buffetts answer was always a growl. My take? He is not limited to conform to what the standard accepted norm is.

2. When miserable, he just wants his mom.

3. Even though he was in uncomfortable surroundings, in an uncomfortable surrounding....and I PUT HIM THERE....he still loves and forgives me.

How many parallels can be drawn from this?

(He is now snoring LOUDLY next to me)
